State Advocates
APTA Geriatrics State Advocates work at the local level to advocate for older adults.

Some responsibilities of an advocate are:

  • Provide two-way communication between APTA Geriatrics and the state chapter.
  • Communicate with APTA Geriatrics members in your state when there are geriatric-related issues, courses, meetings, etc. in your state.
  • Hold at least two activities each year to promote optimal aging, increased awareness and knowledge of PT for aging adults in your state.
  • Be creative! Come up with other ideas to promote PT for the older adult and healthy aging in your state!
